VTT Research Centre of Finland (VTT) is an impartial multidisciplinary expert organisation. Its objective is to develop new technologies, create new innovations and value added thus increasing customer’s competitiveness. With its knowhow VTT produces research, development, testing and information services to public sector and companies as well as international organisations. In terms of their qualifications and suitability for this role, VTT is Finland’s main R&D service provider with approx. 2,800 staff working in various technical fields.

VTT leads Workpackage 2 (Sensor integration and MSD development). The overall architecture of the Multi Sensor Device (MSD) and the characteristics of each sensors will be defined first. The role of VTT in WP2 will be the designing, building and testing of quasi-imaging Vis-Nir spectrometer which will be tailored to fit application in the food industry under harsh working conditions. VTT contributes also for the integration of the sensors. Moreover VTT will also participate in other WPs such as: 3,4,5,6,8,9.
